Stephen R. Ogren

Consultant

Prior to joining Integrated Retirement as a consultant, Steve Ogren served as a partner and management consultant with Deloitte Consulting from 1977-2005. Deloitte is one of the Big Four global accounting and consulting firms, with U.S. revenues in excess of $6 billion.

As a consultant with Deloitte, Ogren specializes in human resource and benefits consulting, with experience and process skills in:
  • Project management
  • Change management
  • Plan and program design
  • Technical analysis
  • Vendor selection
  • Labor-management negotiations,
  • Communication of results to various layers of corporate management, including at the board room level
  • Implementation of results.
Ogren held various local and national leadership positions within Deloitte during his 28 year tenure there, running strategic business units. He was also a frequent speaker on healthcare, human resource and benefits issues.

In his consulting practice, Ogren led teams for numerous vendor searches in the healthcare, dental, Rx, life, disability, long-term care, 401(k), retirement plan, flex benefit, COBRA, HRIS and other administrative functions. These included searches in high profile public sector settings where the results are typically highly scrutinized, for very large private corporations, on normal timetables and “fast-track” modes, and using traditional procurement methods and new web-based online technology.

Since July 2005, Steve Ogren has been teaching full-time as an adjunct professor first for Concordia University-St. Paul and since 2006 for Bethel University in the College of Adult & Professional Studies and Graduate School. He teaches classes in management, business strategy, finance and human resources at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Ogren obtained his BA in physics and mathematics from Gustavus Adolphous College and earned his MBA in Accounting at the University of Minnesota.
